THE GLASS MENAGERIE
By: Tennessee Williams
Directed by: Lauren Repei
SYNOPSIS – When Tom Wingfield brings home a friend from work for a dinner one evening, his mother Amanda’s dreams of a suitor for her daughter Laura seem to be coming true.
Through Tom’s memories and narration we see the tragedy in each Wingfield as they retreat into their own preferred reality; be it a glass collection, a Sunday afternoon in Blue Mountain with seventeen gentleman callers, or poems scrawled on the lids of shoe boxes.
The Glass Menagerie was Tennessee Williams’ first great success and continues to be one of the most-performed and loved classics in theatre.
