HFF (documentary): If I Should Fall Wed 7pm Main Theatre

Given the proximity to Remembrance Day this will be a timely screening about the 22 yr. old fallen Trooper Marc Diab. This documentary is a touching tribute that includes interviews, stories and tragic and candid footage from the front lines of the Afghan war. www.IfIShouldFall.com dir. I am pleased to advise the family of the late Trooper Marc Diab; parents, Jihan, Hani.  Sisters Jessica and Maya will be attending the showing of “If I Should Fall”.  Also, Cpl Shane Mitchell, who was with Marc when he died will be attending. Shane Mitchell is also from Hamilton.  He is coming courtesy of the Royal Canadian Dragoons to attend. Members of the Hamilton based organization Canadian Heroes will also be in attendance.

Sci Fi Sundays Presents Bride of Frankenstein 5pm Oct 30th

Sci Fi Sundays is Hamilton’s nexus where speculation fiction aficionados get together and enjoy science fictiony movies. In celebration of Halloween  Sci Fi Sunday’s members have voted The Bride of Frankenstein as their monthly choice. Bride of Frankenstein is a 1935 black and white classic that follows humans down the path of unintended consequences when they choose science and ignore morality. Not only is The Bride  a science fiction classic but a critically acclaimed masterpiece. It is one the few movies to enjoy a 100% rating on the RT movie site (see here).

Catch The Bride of Frankenstein on the big screen, in real theater seating, on Sunday October 30th at 5pm. Admission is $4/2. If you are planning to see Frankenprov later that night you can enjoy The Bride for free by purchasing your Frankenprov ticket before the movie.

If The Bride is not enough Frankenstuff for one Halloween The Staircase is also putting on The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Frankenstein versus Young Frankenstein and Staircase Improv’s annual smash comedy hit Frankenprov.

Zombie Walk Comes to End at Staircase

It’s time! It’s time! Dust off the old funeral tux and shake out the burial shroud. It’s time to get gorgeous and gory for the 5th Annual Hamilton Zombie Walk and Charity Food Drive (presented by Horror in the Hammer). October 29th @ Gore Park (starting at 2pm).  Join the Hamilton Horde for another year of Halloween horror and help us take a bite out of hunger by bringing a donation of nonperishable food items to Gore Park. All donations will go to support local food bank. Don’t forget to donate some food before you take to the town in search of brains!  WALK ROUTE: Zombies will depart Gore Park around 2pm, shambling North on James St N, down York, and then to Dundurn Castle. FRIGHT NIGHT THEATER: After the walk, come back to The Staircase (27 Dundurn Street North L8R 3C9) for Fright Night Theater and your chance to win zombie prizes.  Admission: $5 zombies, $10 humans. Discounted rate for children. Includes admission to movie. Prize tickets sold separately at The Staircase.

Devil’s Ball Costume Party and Fundraiser Oct 29th

4th Annual Fundraiser Costume Party in Support of the Staircase Theatre. Well, guys and ghouls, its that spooky time of the year again where we gather at the theater for fiendish fundraising fun. Last year our event helped fund new speakers for our facility and this year we are aiming to provide new lights for the mainstage theatre. Tickets are $13 or 2/$20 cash only. Call 905-529-3000 for a reservation  Your admission gets you: Live Music, Sexy Dancing, Comedy, A prize laden Costume Contest, 50/50 Draw, Door Prizes, spooky Delicious Snacks and a Cash Bar. Also catch a uper sneak peak of a BRAND NEW feature length horror film (by a very talented Hamilton-based film company) screening through out the night in our theatre space! Our previous years Devil’s Ball Fundraisers were amazingly spooky party-times, and this year will be bigger and better.
