Her storytelling is self-deprecating, honest, painful, hilarious all over the course of the hour.” 4/4 The Beat “..she talks about the darkness of being sexually dominated. Join us for our 9th annual performance!

HOW WE FIRST MET
An Improvised Celebration of Love created by Jill Bourque.

FRIDAY FEB 9TH 8PM
SATURDAY FEB 10TH 8PM
WEDNESDAY FEB 14TH 8PM

Embark on a side-splitting improvised journey through meeting, dating, and mating as selected couples tell their
“how we first met” stories. Our most advanced improvisers will recreate and hiliariously magnify those pivotal story moments to create funny and touching scenes. Every year the feedback is the same: “you made us fall in love all over again”.

What began as a one-time Valentine’s show in San Francisco in 2001 has played in dozens of cities in the
U.S., Canada, Japan, Australia and Norway! Since its inception, the show has featured a wide range of couples, gay, straight, conservative, liberal, married 50 years, dating three weeks or anything in between…all sharing a kooky crazy thing we call Love!

Hello MacCloud Server!

staircase.org is pretty old for a webpage. It started around 1996 when the concept of putting a community based theatre and cafe into a desolate hydro transformer substation. The page has always been there. It has lived on the now defunct Hamilton free net. It has been housed on a server at the staircase itself. This had to stop because Cogeco kept cutting the cable line to the building. staircase.org has lived the longest on a bare metal server in Philadelphia. Today we move to a cloud server. It will be painful. Not so much because of the cloud but because of janky wordpress legacies and this operator’s history of last minute survival data management.

Moving a web page to a new server is like moving a house to  a new foundation. Except all the contents of the house are still in the house and cannot be disturbed. 🙂

SATURDAY FEB 11TH 8PM
TUESDAY FEB 14TH 8PM

HAMILTON COMEDY FILM FESTIVAL Oct 1-3

Festival line-up to be announced Sept 1st.

poster 1The Hamilton Comedy Film Festival is an annual juried showcase for international comedy films that have been produced for any delivery mode – broadcast, theatrical release or the web. If it delivers the Ha Ha it’s in!

Funny comedy film-making is tough and often gets relegated to a single segment of most film festivals…at HCFF we think Comedy films need to start man-spreading…and lady-spreading too.

poster 2 HCFF will combine film screenings with live comedy performances from invited Stand up, Solo, Sketch and Improv groups over our 3 day festival to create the funniest Comedy Film Festival happening in Hamilton on Oct 1-3, 2015 on Dundurn St north. We’ll brag more after our first year!
