Season 3 of Hot Damn It’s a Queer Slam returns to Hamilton! We are so excited to be having the show at The Staircase Theatre, an aceessible space sponsored by Bryan Prince Bookseller the best bookstore in town that also happens to be 2SLGBTQPIA+ and Steam Whistle Pilsner.

Poets sign up for the 2 round poetry slam and our open mic is for anyone wanting 4 mins of a fantastic audience! If you win, not only do you get $50 from Bryan Prince Bookseller but also you qualify for our finals April 15th atBuddies In Bad Times Theatre and the top prize of a trip to Washington DC for Capturing Fire the international queer summit and slam!

Hot Damn is the only 2SLGBTQPIA+ slam circuit in the world, we travel all over southern ontario to find the best talents and audiences. Don’t forget the Queirdo prize for weirdest poem! It’s such a freaking fantastic night. See you there!

And our hella amazing feature is Tobi Abdul! Tobi is a writer of all sorts and a former ADHD kid who grew up to be an ADHD adult. A former member of Hamilton Youth Poets, she now lives in Toronto where she frequents the Toronto Poetry Slam stage. When not slamming, she’s a culture journalist and has been published on Indiewire, Elite Daily, Huffington Post, Medium, and Highsnobiety. She’s made up entirely of strong opinions and social justice warrior. If your feminism isn’t intersectional, it isn’t for her.
